Unpublished Literary Manuscript by a Marrano Poet. The Author, Duarte Lopes (Moseh) Rosa, a physician and poet, was born in Beja, Portugal. He lived for many years as a New Christian, but after relocating to Amsterdam in 1680 he was then able to publicly profess his Jewish identity. In Amsterdam he was a senior member of the celebrated Academia de los Floridos along with Joseph Penso de la Vega and Miguel de Barrios. See H. den Boer and J.I.
