One of Europe's Most Celebrated Physicians Inveighs Against the Inquisition's Persecution of Portuguese of Jewish Stock. The author (himself a New Christian) traces Portugal's history of discriminating between X.N. (Christaos Novos) and X.V. (Christaos Velhos). According to the title, Ribeiro Sanches wrote this work in the year 1748 and the last lines on f. 66r. read: "Paris 8. de Novembro del 1748." For a full-length biography of Dr. Sanches, see Lot 22.
