summary
In the 15th-century the Jews were expelled from Lunéville and other parts of Lorraine, North-Eastern France. It was not until 1753 that Jews were once again permitted to reside in the town. By 1808, the Jewish community of Lunéville numbered just 315 persons - yet remarkably the town hosted two competing Jewish presses. See EJ, Vol. XI, cols. 567-.
