summary

Not commonly observed in contemporary times, this mystical prayer, recited each night after midnight, is an expression of mourning and lamentation over the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. Deriving from Italy, this manuscript is a reflection of the hold that Kabbalah had in that country.
