A guide to the scientific aspects of Maimonides’ Hilchoth Kiddush HaChodesh (Laws of Sanctification of the New Moon). The author was an interesting amalgam of two worlds: He excelled in his traditional yeshivah education in Frankfurt a/Main, yet was also closely associated with the philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz.
