summary

The author led Barcelona’s main synagogue for half a century, yet he was also a figure of international renown and fielded queries far beyond the Iberian Peninsula. He corresponded with Ashkenazim in France and Germany as well as Eastern Jews in northern Africa and Asia Minor.
