summary
Rare. This Lublin edition is far more scarce than the First Edition (Sabbioneta 1556).
The most important source for ritual customs (minhagim), both within and without the synagogue, as accords to Aschkenazi rite. The work paints a most faithful picture of the religious and social life of the German Jews in the 14th- and 15th-centuries.
Born in Cologne, Rabbi Josef Hirsch Dunner (1913-2007) found safety in England following the rise of German Nazism. He grew to become head of the Union of Orthodox Hebrew Congregations, the umbrella organisation of Anglo-Chareidi Jewry, a position he occupied for decades.
Trimmed, lightly stained and dampwrinkled. Modern maroon calf housed in fitted slip-case. 4to.
