1781

According to the mystical elements of R. Chaim Vital and the meditations of the Ar’i z’l. Marginalia. 4-page manuscript at end written in a contemporary hand of additional meditative prayers.

Vinograd, Zolkiew 415.

The first complete Aschkenazic Sidur with Kavanoth of the Ari Zal. (See printer’s introduction). According to a stipulation in the approbation of R. Mordechai Ze’ev of Lvov, permission was granted to this esoteric Sidur only if it was produced without Nekudoth, in order to make it inaccessible to the common man. It was felt that these mystical Lurianic Kavanoth should be reserved only for the spiritual elite. See also R. Avraham Dovid Lavut in his introduction to Sha’ar HaKollel (printed as an appendix to Torah Ohr, the Siddur of the Lubavitch Chasidim).
