“Let not the reader suspect that I wrote these refutations [on the Ta”Z] because I have a vendetta against him or bear a grudge… For I hosted him for three days and showed him indescribable honor to the point he kissed me on my head and rejoiced as if at a Simchath Beith HaShoevah… For I wrote this book only for the sake of Heaven” (Introduction). R. David Halevi Segal, author of the Turei Zahav, responded to this attack on his work, with his ‘Daf Acharon,’ which the Shach replied to in turn in his ‘Kuntres Acharon.’
