summary

The Chassidic Rabbi of Safed R. Shmuel Heller (1803-84) was deeply active in all aspects of the management of this distinct community in the Galilee. In particular he sought to preserve the town’s particular traditions of Eretz Israel-centric ultra-Orthodoxy.
