Exceptionally rare first edition. A letter written to his wife and children while traveling toward the Land of Israel Israel in 1783 - a journey the Vilna Gaon never completed. This missive is his Ethical Will and contains the most undiluted expression of the Gra’s approach to living an upstanding life set within the bounds of Mussar. Issued here along with a similar letter sent by Nachmanides, centuries earlier.
