summary
Kahane was educated in the Mir Yeshiva of Brooklyn as well as Brooklyn College and NYU Law School. He was appointed rabbi of the Howard Beach Jewish Center in Queens, where he had a dynamic influence on many - but also a polarizing one. After two years, his contract was not renewed, hence the present letter, likely written to Rabbi O. Asher Reichel.
Kahane closes with: “Finally, and I consider this most important, and would appreciate your emphasizing it, I am at present devoting my full time to Talmudic studies.”
