IMPORTANT PEWTER ETERNAL LIGHT
Oswiecim (Auschwitz), Poland, 1936
summary
“Eternal light for eternal memory, the Rabbinic, elevated, strong, experienced, kind, valued individual who sought righteousnes and kindness all his days, the Rabbi of eminent Descent, Pessach, son of Reb Moshe Cohen Hollander, of blessed memory, 1936, Oshvenzim.”
This remarkable object is one of the few articles of Judaica extant from the strong pre-War Oswiecim Jewish community. The Hollander family, from Silesia, was well known.
