summary
Lissitzky’s cover is a Prouns design: a composition with several geometrical elements, both two and three dimensional, dispersed across an uninflected ground, in a manner that defies expectations of normal spatial relationships. The quasi-architectural elements of the Prouns makes it a highly appropriate design insignia for this innovative and progressive architectural journal. The Dutch artist Peter Alma, who was greatly influnced by Lissitzsy and the Russian Constructivist School was probably the link between Lissitzky and the magazine.
Wendingen, published by the Amsterdam Society of Architects was published from 1918 to 1931 (116 issues), and was devoted to architecture, construction and ornamentation
pp. 38. Original pictorial boards, joined together with raffia. 330x330mm
