summary

Second work opposed SCHLESINGER’s Beth Yoseph Chadash which advocated the energetic migration of Jews from Europe to Eretz Israel to avoid Assimilation as a result of the Enlightenment. His ideas were so radical (as extreme as permitting the break-up of marriages) and his criticism of existing communal structures so severe, his work was ultimately banned.
