summary
Following Moses Mendelssohn’s “Morgengedanken über Gott und Schöpfung” in which he attacked the ideas of Benedictus (Baruch) Spinoza, Jacobi published several polemical works in defence of the great philosopher. The Mendelssohn-Jacobi controversy produced a number of polemical writings by the two adversaries. The correspondence between them led to the rediscovery of Spinoza’s ideas by the Romantic School
