This broadside addressed to Jewish soldiers who served in the Russian military, announces the issue of the Balfour Declaration, in which Great Britain proposed its' intention to grant the Jews a homeland in Palestine. "Three and and a half years we sacrificed our lives upon the altar of battle (i.e. World War I)...(and) shed our blood in foreign fields. However, we had no clear goal - not knowing if all the sacrifices would better the fortune of our People." From the immense suffering of the Great War has emerged "this historic act which has illuminated World Jewry with the rays of national freedom."
