summary

The only work of the Spanish rabbi, Isaac Campanton (1360-1463). He lived at a time when Jewish scholarship and Talmudic erudition was on the decline among the Jews of the Iberian Peninsula. His work is a useful contribution to Talmudic methodology, attempting to provide a practical guide for teachers of the Talmud. It is one of the earliest examples of a genre that has come to be known as “Siphrei ha-Kelalim.”
ff. 14. Title cropped and torn. Modern boards. 8vo
