Title within cartouche. Central Aleph-Beth in large square letters with vowels flanked by woodcuts of Moses holding the Luchoth (Tablets) and Aaron the High Priest clothed in priestly garments. Alphabet repeated in smaller letters below. The upper right corner contains selected morning prayers. Lower right corner contains select blessings for food. Upper left corner contains Psalm 23 and the lower left corner in Judeo-German with instructions to teachers on the merits of utilizing this particular chart.

This charming tool for educating children takes its title from the Book of Proverbs: “Train the youth according to his way, so that even when he ages he will not deviate from it (Mishlei 22:6). Accompanied by: Typed Letter Signed from the Keeper of Hebrew Books, British Museum, dated 17th December, 1956 and commenting on this particular educational broadside: “Such flysheets for the instruction of children have for the most part vanished in view of their constant use.”
