Typed Document Signed in English by Rabbis Samuel Aaron Levi Pardes and Simcha Elberg, authorizing the Kashruth of Coca Cola.

(AMERICAN-JUDAICA)

February 8th

Chicago

1956

On letterhead of the rabbinical journal Hapardes.

Document states that an annual visit was made to the central Coca Cola plant in Atlanta, Georgia “in which there is manufactured the special basic mixture of ingredients which is sent to all Coca Cola factories over the entire country and outside of this country and from which ingredients the Coca Cola drink is made… The beverage…is strictly kosher and may be used by the strictest of Orthodox Jews.” A testament to the bridge between that most American of products and the desire of American Orthodox Jews to maintain their religious standards while being full participants in American life and life-style.
