summary

A Hungarian contemporary of Isidor Kaufmann, Lakos (1870-1961) studied in Budapest at the Academy of Art before moving to Munich and then Paris. Lakos’s approach to Judaic themes was one of respect, seeking to emphasize in art the nobility of the Jewish people. For this, his impressionistic, naturalistic style was well suited.
