summary

An address of ‘An Israelite to the Christian World,’ asserting that through the revelation they received at Sinai “the world is indebted for the civilization it now enjoys and will continue to be indebted for the preservation of that civilization.” The author was a native of Jamaica and served as rabbi there for a great many years. He particularly sought to preserve traditional modes of religious behavior on the island, in opposition to the founding of reform elements. Lindo resided in Cincinnati toward the end of his life, passing away the year following publication of the present pamphlet.
pp. 49. Few light stains, lower corners curled. Original printed wrappers, chipped. 8vo.
