Theodor Herzl. Het Land Der Droomen (Alt-Neuland).

(ZIONISM).

De Zonnenbloem

Apeldoorn, (Netherlands)

(1919)

FIRST DUTCH EDITION. Translated and with an introduction by R. J. Spitz. Frontispiece portrait of Herzl.

Highly scarce edition. Just one copy located in America, at the Widener Library of Harvard University, which lacks the frontispiece portrait. Alt-Neuland is Herzl’s Utopian novel in which he envisioned the social and cultural climate of a new Hebrew Nation. The motto of the book became the watchword of the entire Zionist Movement: “If you will it, it is no dream.”
