summary

The author immigrated to America in 1894 and served as rabbis in Milwaukee. In a later work, Derech Shalom (St. Louis, 1926), the author wrote (p. 9): " My first book, Neveh Shalom… sold only a few copies for a low price, and more than half the printing was destroyed in a fire (I only have fifteen copies left)." The author notes at the end of his introduction that only schools incorporating the study of Talmud will save the youth of America.
