summary
This pamphlet presents the history, way of life and religious practices of the "Hill People" of Manipur, India, situated adjacent to the border of Burma (presently Myanmar). This distinct group claim descent from the tribe of Menashe, one of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel led into captivity by the Assyrian conquerors in 722 B.C.E. The pamphlet concludes with a direct appeal to the State of Israel, requesting that the Law of Return be applied to their remote community.
In recent times, the Amishav Organization, under the leadership of Rabbi Eliyahu Avichail, with the consent of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, has brought several hundreds of the so-called B'nei Menashe to Israel
