A native of Bulgaria, Ben-David (previously Davidov) was a pupil of Boris Schatz in Sofia and followed his mentor to Jerusalem upon the founding of the Bezalel School in 1906. Ben-David died in Jerusalm in 1927 aged 43. See Israel Museum Catalogue, Bezalel p. 366 and 386
