This prospectus is for the second Vienna edition of the Talmud, produced between the years 1806-1811. For the first time, there appeared in print, glosses of Elijah, the Gaon of Vilna (d.1797). Questions have been raised as to who made these glosses of the Gaon available to the Vienna printer; also, aspersions have been cast as to their reliability. See N.N.
