After the British government issued the Balfour Declaration in which “His Majesty’s Government view[ed] with favor the establishment in Palestine of a National Home for the Jewish people,” Zionist activists in the United States attempted to elicit positive responses to the Declaration from various members of the American government. This book contains, in addition to a letter from President Woodrow Wilson addressed to Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, favorable responses from numerous senators and congressmen. These are prefaced by the endorsements of the Governments of France, Italy and other nations
