On November 29th 1947, the General Assembly of the United Nations, meeting in Lake Success, New York, decided - by a majority of 33 to 13 votes - to partition Western Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state. This special edition of Yediot provides a comprehensive reportage of the proceedings. -- The historic magnitude of the event is bespoken simply by the two words “A Jewish State!”
