Contains two scholarly introductions on the structure, authorship and history of the Tosephta. Friedlaender states he acquired a hitherto unknown Sephardic manuscript which contained many correct readings. Here he cites examples which in his opinion are more reliable than even the Erfuth Ms. utilized by Zuckermandel in his work on the Tosephta. Both Adolph Schwarz and Jacob Yanovsky denounced Friedlaender's study and were skeptical as to whether his manuscript existed at all. Years later, Friedlaender issued his most audacious publication based upon the fictitious discovery of the long lost Yerushalmi Kodashim
