summary
The recipient was a member of one of the most prominent Rabbinical families in Hungary. His grandfather ,R. Baruch Bendit was famous for his compendium Kesef Nivchar on the major sugyot of the Talmud. HIs biography, picture and responsa were published in Zichron Avot, Jerusalem 1971. Rabbi Hirsch states that he is proud that his previous words found favor in the eyes of such a great scholar as Rabbi Goitein. This letter is published in Zichron Avot pp. 167-68
