summary

This work by a Jewish apostate, on the faculty of the “yeshivah ha-kedoshah” (holy yeshivah, i.e. theological academy) of Leipzig, was written to show his fellow Jews the supposed way to salvation. Elisheva Carlebach has dealt with such converts from Judaism in Germany during this period. See E. Carlebach, Divided Souls: Converts from Judaism in Germany, 1500-1750 (New Haven, 2001).
