summary

Chortiner sought to prove that shared belief-systems existed between Christians and Jews in the era prior to the Fall of Betar. He felt his research would greatly improve Jewish-Christian relations. “I write to inform a person who in addition to being the Prime Minister is also Ben-Gurion. “ Ben-Gurion responds that he favors independent research but that as far as Jewish Christian solutions are concerned there are deep emotional issues and historical problems involved. Since only fragmentary documentation has survived, beyond theories, definitive proof is unattainable. Moreover, Ben-Gurion states the consequence of Chortiner’s theories on international relations is more than exaggerated
