summary

An account by a Deacon of the Church of England of the attempts of the Jewish Community of Mogador, Morocco to resist his endeavours to preach the Gospel to the Jews of Morocco. “A petition was presented to the Sultan of Morocco by the Chief Rabbi, Yosef Almalek, Abraham Corcos and several other leading Jews, stating that there had arrived in their blessed City of Mogador, a man, meaning me, of the sect generally known as Picoros (a corruption of Epicurus), who took up his residence in the new Casabah...that I did no commerce and that my sole object in coming to Mogador, was to corrupt religion and throw disorder into families.”
