The authorship of the commentary to this edition of Mishnayoth Seder Nezikin was subject to a little-known dispute between two prominent scholars. The professed author, Chanoch Albeck, professor of Talmud at the Hebrew University, was sued in Jerusalem District Court by Dr. Mordechai Margalioth, another leading Talmudic scholar, accusing him of plagiarizing his own commentary. Consequently, the half-title of this volume bears a pasted Publisher’s Notice noting that the question of identity of the author of the commentary is currently under adjudication in the Jerusalem District Court
