summary

David Messer Leon (c. 1470-1526), pious rabbi, devoted Kabbalist as well as admirer of Maimonides, boasted a comprehensive knowledge of general culture, particularly philosophy, and an affection for poetry and music. Much of his writings have remained unpublished, although this obscure work which bears no author can no doubt be attributed to him. See I. Zinberg, vol. IV p.98; EJ, XI col.27
