summary

This collection of 450 responsa was the first to be arranged according to the order of the great Rabbinic code, the Shulchan Aruch. As a halachist, Fleckeles was opposed to the hair-splitting methods of pilpul and to what he referred to as “labored solutions.” Throughout his judgements, he is careful to make allowance for local traditional custom, thus interesting sociological insight concerning such matters may be gleaned
Generally, clean copies. Previous owner’s inscription on title of Part II. Later mottled calf-backed boards, gently rubbed at extremities. Folio
