Description
Autograph Letter to the Grand Rabbi of Satmar. Request for the Satmar Rabbi's blessing for himself and his entire family before the New Year. Intriguing wording of his request. Seeking a "refuah sheleima" a complete recovery both physically and spiritually and "teshuva be-nachath" a leisurely repentance (perhaps without pain). For some grand- children he seeks a "worthy, speedy match," others he asks they might grow and mature in an "easy and satisfactory manner" together with the entire Jewish nation.
summary
Reb Itzikel was the most celebrated post-War Chassidic rabbis, after settling in Antwerp. Thousands made pilgrimages to him for blessings and advice. A descendent of R. Elimelech of Lizhensk he was a follower of the Grand Rabbi of Satmar, R. Joel Teitelbaum.
