summary

Deliberates the response of religious Jewry to the proposed establishment of the State of Israel. The Rabbis determine a telegram should be issued by the World Vaad Hapoel preventing “any activity procuring the necessary two-thirds majority in the United Nations to establish the State". The rabbis express bitter opposition to the negotiations held by the representative of Agudath Israel with the British and Canadian delegation at the U.N. on the 21st October, 1947. The letter reads “such representatives are not worthy to represent Agudah in the future" however, the statement was subsequently deleted, and the final line states “the aforementioned statement is duly erased.”
