(Author of Netivoth Ha’mishpat c.1760-1832). Novellae on Shulchan Aruch Even Ha’ezer. Part of original version of his classical work Kohelet Yaakov first published in Lvov 1831. An interesting comparison could be drawn between what the author edited and crossed out with the final published version.
summary
The Rabbi of Lissa was regarded together with R. Akiva Eger as one of the greatest Rabbinical scholars of their generation. It is evident from R. Akiva Eger's superlative praise for him, published in his responsa, that he regarded him as a close confident and colleague.
