summary

This copy no doubt that seen by Bondy: “A delightful miniature prayer-book in Hebrew is the Seder Tefilloth according to Sephardi rites, printed by Dr. Naphtali Herz Levi in Amsterdam in 1729 [sic]. I have seen beautifully bound copies of this scarce volume, one in contemporary painted vellum with attractive Dutch flowered endpapers.” The exotic “fish-skin” binding is found only on the Sepher HaTaSHBba”’TZ (see lot 28). It is seemingly unknown on any other Hebrew book and thus, a most uncommon surprise to discover the present miniature
