summary

Following the polemic of Aaron Shimon of Copenhagen’s Or Hayashar published a year earlier, the present work deals primarily with the Author’s position regarding the Cleves Get Controversy, a causes célèbres of the 18th century that came to involve most of the great rabbinic adjudicators of the day. The work includes opinions by Jacob Emden and Ezekiel Landau. This copy with pp.31-2 present, usually removed due to the severity of language against the Rabbinate of Frankfurt a/Main. See Carmilly-Weinberger, pp. 168-70.
