summary
The first Chabad book printed in Galicia. See Ch. Liberman, Ohel Rachel Vol. I pp.7-11,Vol. III, p.28 no.19.
Anonymously written, the author’s identity is later disclosed by the Kosnitzer Maggid in his approbation to R. Aaron’s later commentary to the prayers “Kesser Nehorah.” R. Aaron also edited the celebrated Compendium of the Ba’al Shem Tov’s deeds, “Kether Shem Tov.”
Chaim Liberman cantankerously dispels the position of Abraham Haberman, who did not include this work in his Bibliography of Chabad Literature, misguidedly relying upon the hypothesis of Gershon Scholem’s disciple, Joseph Weiss.
ff. 64. Browned, title remargined, expert marginal repairs to opening few leaves. Modern blind-tooled tan morocco boards. 8vo
