summary

The author was the city scribe in Lublin from where he fled pogroms to the safety of Vienna, whereupon in 1670 he was expelled from that city when Vienna banned Jews from its environs. Of related interest, in the present work, it is stated that the Messiah disappeared in 1670 and will reappear 40 years later. These words were in fact added to the book by followers of Shabbtai Tzvi, whose reign ceased in 1670
