summary

A compendium of prayers and blessings including Sabbath Zemiroth and a Hagadah for Passover, accompanied by numerous woodcuts. The illustrations are based on the Viennese Hagadah published by Anton Schmid in 1794. Uncommonly Rare. Vinograd (Jassy 3) lists the work based only on a single record (Cara-Schwartz, I. Hebrew Printing in Rumania, in: Kiryat Sepher vol. XLV (1969/70) p.290 no.4). The Hagadah is not found in any of the printed catalogues or Hagadah bibliographies. The work is also distinguished by the presence of a censor’s statement on verso of title written in Rumanian in Hebrew characters, seemingly the only such instance of that phenomenon. See also Herbert, E. Hebrew Printing in Roumania, in: Journal of Jewish Bibliography (1940) pp.110-16
pp.(49). Opening leaf rehinged, lightly stained. Modern calf. 4to
