summary

An important contribution to the “Battle of the Hebrew Books.” Discusses the articles of Catholic faith, seeking to find corroboration of Christian belief in the Jewish Talmud. Despite its tone, it was published in defense of the great German Humanist Johannes Reuchlin from the attacks of Johannes Pfefferkorn and the Dominicans (see also lot)
Mispaginated though complete, wide-margined copy, dampsoiled, some worming generally not affecting text, indices at end stained, opening few fore-edges ragged, foot of opening leaf loose, last leaf remargined, marginalia, modern cloth, folio
