summary
Most unusual account of the life and death of the Chassidic Rebbe of Sadigore, Isaac Friedman, written by his personal attendant, Joseph Rapaport. Whilst on a fund-raising trip to the United States, the Rebbe was suddenly taken ill and died. Unseemly insinuations were popularly raised regarding Rapaport’s role during the tragic course of events, as well as questions relating to the whereabouts of monies collected. The book was written to clarify the particular circumstances leading to the Rebbe’s death, even to the inclusion of names and addresses of all visitors, and the various methods employed to provide medical assistance. Essentially, the publication was Rapaport’s attempt to clear his name.
