<<THE FIRST ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF THE PASSOVER HAGADAH.>> By 1770 the process of linguistic acculturation among Anglo-Jewry gave rise to this first issue of an English translation to the Hagadah. Indeed two versions were issued: One according to Sephardic usage and the present edition, intended for Aschkenazic Jews. The rarity of this Hagadah is attested by the fact that Yudlov did not see a copy directly. He states that he only saw the title page of the Harvard copy that was reproduced in Yerushalmi. For the pagination, he relied on Duker and Yaari. <<An exceptionally rare edition. No copy in the NLI.>>
