The Hebrew inscription in the central panel states that this Torah cover was produced in honor of Rabbi Yitzchak Weiss, the son of the Rabbi Chaim Moshe of Munkacz, 5692 (1932). At this time the Hungarian town of Munkatsch was world renowned due to the presence of the illustrious leader of the Munkatch Chassidim, R. Chaim Elazar Spira (the “Minchas Elozor.”).
