Swiss Protestant theologian and Hebraist, Hottinger (1620-67) was one of the founders of modern Oriental linguistics and Bible exegesis (see EJ VIII, col. 1047). The present work examines the 261 precepts that are expounded upon in the Aaron Halevi’s Sepher HaChinuch.
